At DELTA, we support Good Nutrition and always highlight its many benefits.

For over 70 years, we’ve been putting products of high quality and nutritional value on the Greek family table, throughout the country, while promoting the benefits of the Greek Mediterranean diet abroad.

Our goal is to make good nutrition not only accessible, but also easy and fun to everyone, with products that promote health and well-being. It goes without saying that our production methods respect the environment, consumers’ ethical values and animal rights.

All the people at DELTA share a deep knowledge of the industry and a culture of innovation, both of which have allowed us to change the characteristics of Greek nutrition over the course of many years. This is exactly what we do today: through the design of innovative products and new recipes, we always strive to be a step ahead.

History of nutritional innovation

From…

  1. The first homogenized fresh milk
  2. Lactose-free milk—first time available for kids
  3. The first professional line of dairy products
  4. The first adult yoghurt with fruits
  5. The first infant yoghurt with EOF approval—an innovation that changed infant nutrition
  6. The first creamy, strained yoghurt with the patented method of double-straining
  7. The first Feta cheese packed in brine
  8. The first refrigerated fruit juices
  9. The first fresh-squeezed orange juice
  10. The first molecular biology lab in the food industry

At DELTA, we are proud of our many firsts in innovation, as well as our distinctions for our products and our operation method.

Taking these into account, DELTA was awarded with the 2023 Beyond Innovation Award by Economist.

We empower good nutrition.

Every product that carries the DELTA seal is a result of not only the utmost care and commitment to quality, but also extensive Research & Development carried out by our scientific team.

Modern techniques and methodology—such as lean innovation and fast prototyping—allow us to quickly test new innovative ideas for creating products of high quality and nutritional value, in real-life conditions, which are then introduced to consumers following strict and comprehensive processes.

Thanks to this innovative ecosystem we’ve created, over the last two years:

  1. We’ve reduced by up to 30% the sugar content in our Advance and Smart infant and children’s yoghurts.
  2. We created new recipes for our Advance infant products using natural sugars, fruits and cereals.
  3. We ensured that over 75% of our vegetal drinks, juices and teas contain no added sugar.
  4. We developed milk and yoghurt Vitaline desserts for adults, rich in protein, low in fat, and with no sugar.
  5. We created two new, natural and functional Life juices, with a variety of fruits and spices, rich in vitamins and nutrients. These boost energy and promote well-being, reinforce the immune system, and address contemporary trends and needs, by offering consumers choices that combine enjoyment with nutritional value.
  6. We developed the new DELTA Smart cereal bars with 100% wholegrain oats and honey, created especially for kids. They combine energy-boosting tahini, cocoa, yoghurt, naturally dried strawberries and peanut butter.
  7. We created the new DELTA Smart Paw Control yoghurt desserts, featuring only natural sugars from fruits and cereals, enriched with calcium and vitamin D—elements that benefit bone development and promote the correct function of their immune system.

We actively contribute to the adoption of healthy nutritional habits.

In an effort to promote good nutrition as an easy, enjoyable and realistic way of living, we launched the “Good Food for Thoughtpodcast series, in collaboration with pod.gr.

In each episode, the journalist Niki Lyberaki and her guests, discuss issues involving nutrition, combining fun, everyday experiences with scientific data.

Does good nutrition mean dieting? Are there good and bad foods? Do psychology and social media play a role in our nutritional choices? How should we talk to our children about food? Which are the most common myths about nutrition?

These are just some of the questions that form the basis of six enjoyable discussions which help us discover the path to good nutrition, while overcoming stereotypes and myths.

We support right choices from an early age

Adopting good nutritional habits in our everyday life starts from an early age. That’s why it’s very important for kids to learn that good nutrition can be fun and interesting—if it’s done in a pleasant, creative way.

In collaboration with The Why Community, an educational activities platform—we designed an awareness program on the issues of nutrition and foodwaste for kids aged 4-6.

This program is addressed at nursery schools and kindergartens all over the country, with the goal to create an environment where kids can explore, discover the values and benefits of good nutrition, and care for the environment—all of which will help them to prepare for a healthy, sustainable future.

On October 2, 2024, in an effort to support the National Action against Childhood Obesity, we granted the Ministry of Health the intellectual property rights for the awareness material promoting healthy breakfasts for kids. At the same time, we suspended the nutrition-related initiatives we have been implementing in kindergartens and nursery schools since 2011, for as long as similar programs are carried out in schools by the state. For us, quality and safety are non-negotiable.

At DELTA, the quality and safety of our products are non-negotiable values. By performing constant inspections and adhering to strict standards, we ensure that each and every product of DELTA satisfies the needs and demands of our customers.

From raw materials to final product, each step and process is part of a comprehensive analysis network.

In all our factories, over 1,000 inspections are being performed on a daily basis, following strict protocols and meeting the highest quality and safety specifications.

DNA technology is an integral part of our quality control process.

When it comes to quality and safety, combining applied research with production processes allows us to always be a step ahead.

DELTA is the first food company in Greece to create a state-of-the-art Molecular Biology Laboratory, in an effort to expand the current knowledge on microbiological hazards involved in the production process. To that end, we include DNA technology in the quality control process of our production.

Perhaps the lab’s greatest innovation is its continuous—and in real time—synergy with the production process. This ensures that each and every ingredient, along with every packaging, meets the high expectations of our customers.

Yet we don’t stop here. We apply the same strict quality controls during distribution, all the way through to the various points of sale. We monitor in real time the temperature during transport, which allows us to act quickly if we notice any deviation from set limits. This ensures that the cold chain is strictly adhered to.

Solid proof of our commitment to quality and safety are the certifications the company holds, along with the fact that ever since 2001 there has never been a product recall.
